General Contest Rules
On most of our shows, Kids Corner asks a nightly research question or The Big Question. You can find the general contest rules which apply below. These general contest rules apply to all Kids Corner contests unless otherwise noted.
For the Big Question, listeners submit their responses via email using Big Question form. From all valid entries received, seven entries will be selected at random and as long as they have the correct answer and haven't won a Big Question prize in the past two weeks, will be sent an email notifying them that they are one of our lucky seven winners.
1. How to Enter the Contest
a. When prompted, call the Kids Corner line at 800-KIDS-XPN to answer the Research Question. If a show is not broadcast live, new calls will not be accepted when the taped program prompts calls to the previously answered Research Question.
b. Responses must contain the correct answer to the Research Question in order to be valid.
c. XPN is not responsible for calls not received due to difficulty accessing phone lines, the internet, service outages or delays or other technological glitches.
2. Dates
Unless specific start and end dates are announced for a particular contest, a different episode of the research question contest is conducted each evening during the broadcast of Kids Corner. 88.5 WXPN may change the dates and/or terms of the contest without prior notice. Any material change will be broadcast by WXPN during the Kids Corner hour and/or posted on the KidsCorner.org website.
3. Eligibility Restrictions
The contest is open to all kids 17 years of age and younger.
Employees of XPN, its sponsors, volunteer staff members managing the contest and the members of their households are ineligible to participate or win.
Only one prize per person per contest episode. Once a listener wins a research question prize, that person is ineligible to win another research question prize for two weeks beginning from the last date they won a prize.
4. The Prize
Unless otherwise announced, the prize for the Kids Corner research question has an estimated retail value of $40 or less.
No prize awarded in the research question contest is exchangeable or redeemable for cash.
The prize will be shipped by Kids Corner to the name and address provided by the caller.
5. Selection of Winner
After the question of the evening is asked, listeners will be prompted to call 800-KIDS-XPN. Calls will be taken in the order received and the first seven callers with the correct answer will win. If a caller does not answer the question correctly, the next call will be taken until all seven prizes are awarded. for that evening.
Decisions of station management with respect to the contest are final.
6. Conditions
a. Payment of all federal, state and local taxes (when applicable) is the sole responsibility of the winner.
b. By participating in the contest, the winner agrees to have his or her first name used in any broadcasting material relating to this contest, and, at the discretion of WXPN, to appear on the air, without additional financial or other compensation.
WXPN and Kids Corner reserve the right to make changes in the rules of the contest, including the substitution of a prize or prizes of equivalent or greater value, which will become effective upon announcement.
No purchase or donation is necessary.
WXPN and Kids Corner are not responsible for typographical or other errors in the printing, the offering or the administration of the contest or in the announcement of a prize.
