Anything the mind imagines can become art.
From the more traditional visual arts (like drawing and sculpture) to the artistic varieties within dance, performance art and live music - everywhere you look, the world is filled with art.
To celebrate the creativity inside each and every one of us, Kids Corner has decided that spring would be a PERFECT time to launch a celebration of the arts!
So, What Is Art?
We all know the word 'art'
- but just what is art? And, can something NOT be art?
Basically, art is what you make it. The paintings on a wall, the music you practice, the creativity you express. It all can be art.
Art can be appreciated many ways- although you might listen to music, you can also feel the emotions that a musician is trying to express. You can watch a band play. You can read the lyrics to your favorite song while listening to it.
Art can be found in the sounds of music. Art can be seen on a wall or projected on a screen. Art can even be spoken. Learn more about all the art around you by clicking the words to the right.
